travelin fools travel blog

Welcome to Travelin’ Fools.

I am Kelsey Kay Love. If you’re reading something on this site, chances are I wrote it. If you’re looking at a beautiful picture or watching our new YouTube channel and admiring my photography slash videography skills, stop it, ’cause that’s my boyfriend, Peter Rimkus. We met in Austin, Texas, in 2012 and made a plan to travel the world together despite being, for all intents and purposes, completely unprepared. But that’s kind of the point, isn’t it? If we waited to travel until I paid off my student loans or Peter paid off his credit card debt, we’d have to wait seven years until it vanished. That’s how it works, right? I think I read that somewhere.

But for real. The point is that we decided it’s important to see the world. And despite not being trust fund babies or having savings accounts or being employed full time a majority of the time, we somehow manage to see pretty cool shit. Some of it’s pretty, some of it’s cool, and some of it’s shit. This is not a blog about how to live reasonably on your pension. This is a blog for people who want to live in interesting places and can appreciate that for what it is: simple, beautiful, and spontaneous. Life’s too short to live somewhere that sucks.

Peter is a Videographer & Photographer specializing in underwater and Steadicam. After growing up in San Jose, California, and Austin, Texas, he worked as a scuba dive instructor, kayak guide, surf photographer and underwater photographer for the last few years in places like Key Largo, Bermuda, Costa Rica, Maui, Australia, New Zealand, Sumatra, Thailand and California. He enjoys eating things made of sugar, shaking his hips in the morning time and being in the ocean as much as possible.

I am a Video, Ad Strategist & Destination Marketer. I grew up in Irving, Texas, went to college in Austin, Texas, and was briefly very poor in several countries after that. I enjoy watching outdoor movies, dancing with old men, listening to solid tunes, floating in calm bodies of water, discovering new dive bars, going on scenic hikes that are not uphill, and sipping wine in the sunshine in the Mediterranean. I hope you’ll follow our adventures and use our advice to find your own happiness, wherever in the world that may be. Cheers, y’all.
